LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Lansing Mayor Andy Schor has announced a deal had been reached between a group of Lansing Fire Department retirees who protested against a significant increase in their healthcare costs and the City of Lansing.
According to a news release sent to 6 News, the healthcare costs affected 65 Lansing Fire Department retirees who retired between 2014 and 2021 under a contract that required them to pay all costs over the state-mandated hard cap.
