Memphis to install 30 speed cameras in high-risk zones

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police Department and the city of Memphis are set to install 30 speed cameras as part of its new automated speed camera enforcement program aimed at “changing driver behavior, curbing reckless speeding, and making streets safer for all.”

The cameras will be placed at 15 locations, including high-risk intersections, S-curves, and school zones.

“Installing speed zone enforcement cameras at high-risk intersections and school zones is a critical step toward improving community safety,” said Memphis Mayor Paul Young. “We’re committed to creating safer streets for all Memphians, especially our children and pedestrians.”…
