Memphis Community on Alert as Police Seek Help to Identify Suspect in Brierhedge Avenue Vehicle Thefts

A string of thefts from motor vehicles has rattled the neighborhood around Brierhedge Avenue and Lynnfield Street. The Memphis Police Department reported that officers were dispatched following a call regarding vehicle break-ins on Friday at approximately 10:00 p.m. Details emerged that a suspect in a maroon and red sedan, described as an unknown male in a hoodie, was caught on camera at around 9:30 p.m., targeting parked vehicles. According to the surveillance footage, he smashed windows to gain entry and pilfered through the contents of the cars.

The Memphis Police Department stated in their official report that the vehicle used in the crime spree, while captured on a dash cam, bore no license plate, making the current investigation more challenging. Desperate for leads, and with the identity of the hoodie-clad individual still unknown, law enforcement is reaching out to the public for assistance. The report mentioned, “Officers were advised that several vehicle break-ins with property taken were captured on surveillance video.”
