KCSOS seeks volunteer reading coaches for 2nd grade students in annual reading project

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Superintendent of Schools office asked volunteers to participate in the annual Kern County Community Reading Project, in which they can help local second grade students become better readers.

The project is seeking to recruit and train community members to become reading coaches for students, according to a KCSOS release shared on Monday.

Volunteers will attend a training session to learn guided reading techniques and will commit one hour, one day a week for at least one semester, KCSOS said.
