Former U.S. Postal Worker Sentenced to 5.5 Years in Prison for Stealing Over $10 Million Worth of Checks from the Mail

September 9, 2025 – LOS ANGELES, CA – A former United States Postal Service letter carrier from Orange County was sentenced

on Monday to 66 months in federal prison for stealing from the mail more than $10 million in Treasury and other checks over a four-year span.

Rashad Deon Stolden, 34, of Huntington Beach, was sentenced by United States District Judge R. Gary Klausner, who also ordered him to pay $1,627,291 in restitution.

Stolden pleaded guilty on April 14 to one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud. Stolden worked at the Bicentennial Post Office, located in the Fairfax district of Los Angeles…
