State grant funds lead removal in Grand Rapids homes with poisoned children

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Grand Rapids has received state funding to help with ongoing efforts to protect families from lead exposure.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) awarded a $720,000 community grant to the city of Grand Rapids to identify and abate lead paint and water hazards in homes occupied by lead-poisoned children.
