BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – The purchasing card for the Charles R. Kelly Community Center has been frozen until a budget review is completed, the East Baton Rouge City-Parish government confirmed to WAFB.
The community center and the ‘P-Card’ are under the supervision of District 5 Councilman Darryl Hurst. He said services will not be impacted by the budget review.
“I was contacted last week saying — because it looks like you may be running over a little bit, we may cut the p-card off, so it wasn’t a blindside, we knew it was coming,” Hurst said. “But what we have done proactively after we got that call is reach out to Exxon Mobil with a proposal. One thing we cannot do is stop feeding people with food insecurities.”…
