The Plano City Council on Monday. Sept. 8, raised the property tax rate for the first time in 16 years while approving a $798.5 million operating budget for fiscal year 2025-26.
Council set the tax rate at 43.76 cents per $100 of assessed property value, a 4% increase from the current rate of 41.76 cents. The new rate takes effect Oct. 1.
