Lawsuit filed against former Memorial Hermann employee, who was arrested for hiding recording devices in bathroom

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (KIAH) — A nurse is suing a former employee from Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands after its former patient care director was arrested for secretly placing hidden cameras in the woman’s restroom.

Robert Shrader, 41, was arrested in August by Montgomery County deputies and charged with seven counts of evasive visual recordings. He posted bond and was later released from jail.

Hospital staff discovered the recording devices on Aug. 22, the lawsuit claims. Investigators said the cameras were hidden in ceiling tiles near exhaust fans inside one restroom across from the labor and delivery unit on the second floor. Another hidden camera was found in the Medical Surgical Unit on the third floor.

The lawsuit, filed in a Montgomery County court on Friday, said that the camera was placed in a single-stall bathroom on the second floor of the hospital. Staff was notified and an internal email said that Shrader was the one who put the cameras in the bathroom.
