In what could be a first for the city, Columbus cancelled its regularly scheduled council meeting Tuesday morning. The Clerk of Council Lindsey McLemore said it was due to a lack of quorum and that only five council members could be present and six are required to be present in person. She said some of the councilors could only appear virtually.
When asked if the council has ever had to cancel a meeting before McLemore said, “I don’t remember since I’ve been here and that’s 12 years.” Mayor Skip Henderson’s service to the city expands decades, first as a city councilor and currently as Mayor.
