Week-old puppies found abandoned outside Lexington apartment complex

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A couple of one-week-old puppies were found abandoned on Saturday in Lexington.

A Monday afternoon Facebook post from Lexington-Fayette County Animal Care & Control claimed that the puppies were found in a box during the evening hours of Sept. 6.

The animal care dispatch office told FOX 56 the two pups were found outside the Metropolitan apartment complex on Appian Way, and they are “in great health.”

The animal shelter confirmed that criminal charges will be filed if those responsible are identified.

“In the meantime, these babies are safe—warm, cozy, and being bottle-fed by our team,” the post noted.
