MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The councilman who represents downtown expressed concern Tuesday about the details of Mayor Sandy Stimpson’s proposed crackdown on vacant commercial properties.
Stimpson rolled out the proposal Friday, which would require owners of vacant commercial buildings inside the Henry Aaron Loop to register those properties, pay a fee and comply with a host of regulations ranging from security doors and windows to installing working fire alarms.
