A day at a Santa Rosa park is going to get a bit more expensive as commissioners look for ways to keep pace with rising costs of maintenance and upkeep of facilities across the county.
Details of a new fee structure won’t be ironed out before the Sept. 10 regular County Commission meeting, but county staff has recommended new rates that could double the cost to rent pavilions at such popular locations as Navarre Beach Marine Park and Benny Russell Park near Milton.
Suggested rent increases for the beach pavilion would take rates from $25 to $50 per day to $35 to $100 per day, and at Benny Russell Park from between $40 per day to $100 per day depending on which pavilion is utilized.
