PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — As the temperatures are slowly starting to drop, COVID-19 levels are already starting to rise in Rhode Island.
The Rhode Island Department of Health monitors the wastewater from 11 different treatment facilities around the state to track the spread of respiratory diseases.
When a person contracts COVID-19, the flu or RSV, the virus can be detected in their bodily fluids, even if that person has no symptoms.
