ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Over the past few months, WDBJ7 has reported on the use of Flock license plate reading cameras in our hometowns, highlighting the safety benefits and privacy concerns associated with them.
The Roanoke Police Department has 24 Flock cameras around the city and has used them for nearly two years. It has made efforts to be as transparent as possible with the public about its usage of the cameras.
“These Flock cameras are helping us keep our community safe. We understand that there’s always going to be some concerns, and we’re doing our best to address that through the transparency portal and through interviews like this.
