State Report: No injuries, operator fired after Seabreeze kiddie coaster incident

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A newly released state report sheds more light on a safety incident at Seabreeze amusement park that drew widespread attention earlier this summer.

The report, issued by the New York State Department of Labor’s Industry Inspection Bureau, confirms that a ride operator on the Bear Trax kiddie coaster attempted to start the ride on July 21 without lowering the safety bar on a child’s car. A parent quickly shouted for the ride to stop, and the operator immediately shut it down. Maintenance staff secured the child, and the ride continued without issue.
