Smash-and-grab robbers ransack newly-opened restaurant in Prince George’s County

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — Just a month after opening its doors, the Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood Bar restaurant at the Shops at Iverson mall was targeted in a smash-and-grab that caused significant property damage and left staff members seeking community support.

The burglary happened around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the 3700 block of Branch Avenue, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGCPD).

Surveillance video showed four people arriving in a white sedan, who then allegedly shattered the restaurant’s glass front door and forced their way inside. PGCPD officials said the suspected burglars ransacked the register and fled the scene. No injuries were reported…
