CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The man accused in Linn County’s first-ever quadruple murder case is asking the court to keep his trial on track and avoid more delays.
Court records show Luke Truesdell has decided to use his right to a speedy trial, after previously giving it up. His attorney, Patrick McMullen, said the move isn’t to get the trial sooner but to stop it from being pushed back again.
The case was delayed after one of Truesdell’s lawyers had surgery on Feb. 7. That lawyer hoped to be ready for a Feb. 14 hearing, but earlier this week it became clear recovery would take longer.
