Nampa police shoot, wound man armed with knife

A man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after he was shot by police on Friday night.

The man, who was identified in a Nampa police news release as a Nampa resident, was the subject of a call reporting suspicious activity near Sixth Street North and Fifth Avenue North, near downtown Nampa, at 11:25 p.m., the news release stated.
