Ready for a bigger break into South Dakota and beyond, Sioux Falls-based The Breaks Coffee Roasting is more than doubling its roasting capacity while spreading out production tasks in a larger roasting facility less than a mile from its original space.
In the new high-ceilinged 2,000-square-foot facility, a 15-kilo-capacity Mill City Roasters machine will anchor the company’s continued growth, with approximately two-thirds of the space devoted to production and storage. Work continues on a commercial kitchen and offices that will occupy the remaining space.
“We’ve had to renovate the space, updating gas, electric, plumbing, cosmetics, etc. but are at the tail end of the project now,” The Breaks Coffee Roasting Owner Corey Gerlach told Daily Coffee News.
Roasted coffees will start flowing from the new machine in the coming weeks, while the 6-kilo-capacity Mill City machine in the original 1,000-square-foot roastery cafe will remain in regular use…
