After two days of frantic efforts from search teams, the body of a missing 7-year-old boy has been found in a pond in North Carolina, authorities said.
On the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 9, officials discovered the body of Liam King in a pond close to the area where he was initially reported missing in Asheboro, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on social media.
“We are absolutely devastated,” the sheriff’s office said. “I wish more than anything that we had a different outcome — for Liam’s family, for our community, and for the hundreds of first responders and volunteers who poured their hearts into finding him alive…
