MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Elon’s Jack Wieler is in contention for a repeat performance at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate, sitting in a tie for second place through 36 holes after sharing the individual title at the event a year ago.
Wieler – who won a three-way share of the individual crown at the tournament’s inaugural event last September – carded 68 and 69 for a 7-under-par 137 across the first two rounds of Elon’s fall season. The Elon men’s golf team is in sole possession of sixth place (569, -7) and nine shots off the lead with 18 holes to play at Grande Dunes Golf Club. FGCU (-16), Texas State (-14) and Florida Atlantic (-12) round out the top three after two rounds.
