Flooding concerns rise in low lying neighborhoods as king tides return to St. Pete Beach

ST. PETE BEACH, Fla. — 44th Avenue is just one area the city of St. Pete Beach expects to see flooding over the next couple of weeks. Neighbors there said they’re no stranger to king tide flooding — and flooding is reshaping their community.

On Tuesday, water in St. Pete Beach slowly started to collect and inch its way up driveways.

“I don’t sleep well if it’s raining overnight right now. If it’s raining, I get up and I walk the house, and I look out the windows, I check where there were leaks from before,” Jeff Graves, who lives in St. Pete Beach, said…
