ELKTON — A man is facing several criminal charges after he allegedly broke into his neighbor’s Elkton-area apartment during the early-morning hours Sunday and cut one of the three occupants with a knife, as they tried to subdue him, according to Cecil County District Court records.
The residents told Cecil County Sheriff Office investigators that they had had “no prior interaction” with the 20-year-old suspect, Celestino Patish-Tan, before approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sunday — when he allegedly entered their apartment in the 300 block of Fletchwood Road, northeast of Elkton, by climbing through an open first-floor kitchen window, after removing the screen and boosting himself by stepping on a porch chair, police reported. Patish-Tan lives in a nearby apartment that also is in the 300 block of Fletchwood Road, police noted.
One of the victims told investigators that she was on a living room couch when the suspect — armed with a kitchen knife — appeared from the kitchen area and confronted her, police said.
