EL DORADO, Kan. (KSNW) — Residents served by Public Wholesale Water Supply District #8 and Butler County Rural Water District #3 are under a boil water advisory again after a waterline break caused a loss of pressure in the systems.
This is the second time this month that the Kansas Department of Health and Environment has issued a boil water advisory for the two water districts. The department issued an advisory on Sept. 4 that was rescinded on Saturday.
Until further notice, customers are urged to:
- Boil water for one minute before drinking or food preparation, or use bottled water.
- Discard ice cubes and do not use ice from household ice makers.
- Flush taps if water appears dirty.
- Disinfect dishes and food-contact surfaces by immersing them for one minute in tap water mixed with one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon.
- Supervise children while bathing to avoid accidental ingestion.
Water for bathing does not typically need to be boiled, but people with cuts or rashes may wish to consult a doctor. Residents with questions can call their water system at 620-476-2288 or KDHE at 785-296-5514…
