88 indicted for federal drug crimes in ‘Operation Snowy Ridge’

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Eighty-eight people were indicted with federal drug offenses for trafficking cocaine, fentanyl and meth between April and August of this year.

A news release from South Dakota’s U.S. Attorney’s office said of the 88 defendants, 16 were arrested in two days during what the U.S. Attorney’s Office called Operation Snowy Ridge, which was a two-day, multi-agency investigation in western South Dakota.

“The U.S. Attorney’s Office in South Dakota is proud to work alongside federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies to protect the public by disrupting and dismantling drug trafficking organizations,” U.S. Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell said in a news release. “We will continue to use every legal tool available to ensure drug traffickers face significant sentences in federal prison for endangering our communities and fueling addiction.”…
