COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office says 15 people are now behind bars following a 30-day drug investigation that uncovered trafficking amounts of narcotics and dozens of illegal guns.
Deputies, working with the DEA, Lee County Sheriff’s Office and multiple MCSO units, executed several search warrants that led to the seizure of 30 firearms, many in the hands of convicted felons. They also recovered drugs with an estimated street value of more than $200,000 and over $21,000 in cash.
Results of drug investigation:
- 30.8 pounds of marijuana, valued at about $139,706
- 1.1 pounds of methamphetamine, valued at $51,000
- 208 grams of amphetamines (502 pills), valued at $6,024
- 101 oxycodone pills, valued at $2,020
- 80 Xanax pills, valued at $1,600
- 31 grams of cocaine, valued at $3,100
- 9 grams of ecstasy, valued at $240
- $21,144 in U.S. currency
- Two vehicles pending seizure
Among those arrested are suspects facing charges of trafficking meth, cocaine and amphetamines, illegal prescription pill possession, theft by receiving stolen firearms, obstruction, and possession of firearms during the commission of a crime.
