Chickasaw meat-packing business hit by devastating fire

CHICKASAW, Ala. (WKRG) — Multiple departments responded to a fire that broke out at a meat-packing business in Chickasaw.

The Hall Namie Packing Company, located on Iroquois Street, went up in smoke Tuesday night after a fire broke out in the boiler room, officials say.

Eyewitness Chrystle Richards was driving behind one of the fire engines as they were responding to the scene.

“We’ve been here for about an hour, and it’s just gotten worse,” Richards said.

The owner of the business, Deborah Hodges, tells News 5 that the shop was looking forward to celebrating its 80th anniversary this fall. Due to the fire, they will not be able to hold over 25 events they had scheduled…
