STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — After a complaint to the Florida Department of Health, investigators said 37-year-old Meghan Pagano was offering Botox inside GT Fitness in Stuart. She even went as far as using another woman’s nurse practitioner license to make it look like she was legitimate.
The affidavit said undercover investigators walked into the fitness center, where Pagano offered Botox for just $7 a unit, well below legitimate clinics. Athena Plastic Surgery in Stuart said it usually costs between $12 and $15 a unit.
“You need to vet the people and the business that are offering these procedures to ensure that they’re properly licensed, properly trained to be performing these procedures, because you’re not going to be saving a lot of money getting these reduced procedures when you have an adverse effect,” Port St. Lucie Police PIO Sgt.
