The Napa Police Department responded to a shooting incident that occurred on the evening of August 20, near the intersection of Freeway Drive and Pine Street. A victim sustaining serious injuries was subsequently transported to a local hospital and is reportedly in stable condition, the department updated earlier today through an official press release available on the City of Napa website.
Following the shooting, the police were initially unable to identify suspects; however, a breakthrough in the case came as detectives from the Special Enforcement Unit identified 19-year-old William Stroud Jr. as the suspect and executed search warrants in Napa and Benicia. Yesterday, Stroud was detained and brought in on attempted murder and criminal street gang charges, as per the update on the City of Napa website.
