An Iowa mom is speaking out after her 12-year-old daughter was hit by a car while in a crosswalk near a local school.

The incident occurred just after 3:30 p.m. local time on Friday, Sept. 5 in the 300 block of East County Line Road in Des Moines, according to CBS affiliate KCCI and NBC affiliate WHO.
