Nueces County approves $130M budget, 7.59% tax rate increase

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Nueces County leaders faced a packed agenda during Tuesday’s Commissioners Court meeting, with one of the biggest items being the approval of the 2025-2026 county budget and tax rate for the upcoming fiscal year.

County Judge Connie Scott and the Commissioners Court approved a $130 million general fund budget for 2025-2026. Alongside it, commissioners voted to adopt the 2025 tax roll, which includes a 7.59% increase in the county’s tax rate.
