RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) – A motion introduced at Tuesday’s pre-trial conference in the payroll fraud trial of a former Richland mayor aims to keep certain words detailing those alleged actions from being mentioned to the jury.
Attorney Merrida Coxwell, who represents former elected official William “Pat” Sullivan, proposed the motion to Judge Bradley Mills, claiming that the verbiage used by investigators would unduly prejudice those charged with determining Sullivan’s guilt.
