Bill Miller Bar-B-Q fries up $9 chicken fried chicken plate. But is it good?

As restaurant chains often do, Bill Miller Bar-B-Q rotates out its limited-time offers, which have included a number of seasonal entrees, desserts and sides over the years. The latest limited offering to make its way onto the San Antonio barbecue chain’s menu combines a Texas favorite with classic Bill Miller accoutrements for less than $10.

As of Monday, September 8, Bill Miller Bar-B-Q has rolled out a chicken fried chicken plate onto its menu. The plate comes with a choice of two sides and a sweet tea or other drink for $9. MySA visited a San Antonio location to sample the chicken fried chicken plate in all its gravy-laden glory.

The chicken fried chicken plate is being advertised heavily on marquees and in-store displays, so don’t be shy if you want to try it. During our visit, we ordered the plate with a side of green beans and pinto beans along with a sweet tea. The total came out to $9.74, making this plate eligible for MySA’s ongoing $10 Taste series.

Bill Miller’s chicken fried chicken can be described as a piece of crispy, boneless chicken smothered in white, peppered gravy. If you’re a fan of the chicken sandwich or the tenders, this might be for you. The sides really make the meal, so choose wisely on what you want to accompany the chicken fried chicken.

A Bill Miller Bar-B-Q employee told MySA that the restaurant chain has featured chicken fried steak in the past but added that this is the first time they’ve seen a chicken fried chicken plate. However, a social media manager with the company said that chicken fried chicken has been featured in the past. MySA reached back out to Bill Miller for further clarification about when the chain had the dish on its menu last. We will update our story when we learn more…
