SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A man from Springfield has been sentenced to 32 and a half years in federal prison without parole for being part of a drug-trafficking conspiracy involving 19 defendants and more than $1.8 million worth of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
According to the United States Department of Justice, Dontrell A. Powell, 36, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking on Jan. 21, 2025.
On Jan. 17, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, state troopers searched a Dodge Magnum on a car hauler at a truck stop and found about 100 pounds of meth and two pounds of fentanyl pills in a subwoofer speaker box. The street value of those drugs was estimated at $1,850,000…
