No plea offer for man charged in 74-year-old roommate’s death

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — There is no plea offer for a man who admitted stomping on the head of his 74-year-old roommate, killing him, an attorney said during a brief hearing Thursday.

Assistant Public Defender Teryl Wakeman told the court he was ready to proceed with a preliminary hearing in the case against his client, Jason Garibay, 30, who’s facing a charge of first-degree murder in the death of Domingo Trevino.

Prosecutor Brad Taconi, however, wasn’t available as he’s in trial on another murder case…
