ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Philadelphia resident was arrested after an alleged carjacking at Sheetz in the Greenwood area of Altoona.
Squan Edgar Washington, 25, was arrested when Logan Township Police were dispatched to Sheetz at 1661 E. Pleasant Valley Boulevard Sept. 10, for a reported robbery/carjacking.
According to police, they made contact with the vehicle owner, who alleged a man, later identified as Washington, had pushed him out of his car and sped off. The victim claimed Washington was test-driving the vehicle to see if he wanted to buy it.

Police were able to track the car after the victim related that his phone was still inside it. Tryone police soon spotted Washington and the vehicle at Choice Cigarette. Washington noticed police nearby and allegedly tried to drive off again, crashing into a Tyrone police cruiser in the process.
