Napa crash: Men who died said to be farmworkers headed to overnight grape-picking shift

The six men who died in a deadly Napa County car crash Sunday were farmworkers who resided in or near Stockton, spokespersons for the Napa County Coroner’s Office said Tuesday afternoon.

Just hours after Napa County officials announced Stockton resident Norberto Celerino had been charged in the case, coroner’s officials released the names of two of the men who were killed. Celerino and another man survived the crash with major injuries.

The deceased men were identified as Loreto Ricardo Hernandez, 42, and Fernando Silverio, 34. Both lived in the Stockton area, officials said, noting that identifying decedents and notifying their next of kin is a thorough process that sometimes requires days to complete…
