A contract worker at the Cook County Jail kitchen is facing felony charges after investigators allegedly caught her trying to bring THC-laced gummies into the facility.
Authorities say 36-year-old Ashley McCall was terminated from her job and escorted out of the jail on September 4, after investigators discovered the gummies in her purse. A field test came back positive for THC, which is banned in the jail. Investigators had received information that McCall might be smuggling the gummies inside.
