Gov. Evers orders flags to be flown at half-staff to honor WWII veteran from Milwaukee killed in Germany

MADISON, Wis. — Gov. Tony Evers ordered flags to be flown at half-staff Wednesday to honor U.S. Army Private First Class Leon R. Karwacki.

Karwacki was killed in Germany during World War II. He was 27 years old.

His remains were recently identified and are being returned to Wisconsin for burial. He was from Milwaukee…
