The Big Apple’s cookie craze is heading south. Chip City Cookies, the gourmet chain famous for its oversized cookies with melty centers, is opening its first Dallas-area location in McKinney on Sept. 19, 2025.
The new shop at 6650 Alma Rd #100, just north of SH-121, will bring a taste of New York sweetness to Collin County, giving locals a fresh spot to satisfy late-night cravings and weekend dessert runs.
The Cookie Backstory
Chip City was born in 2017 when childhood friends Peter Phillips and Teddy Gailas decided Astoria, Queens needed better cookies. Their concept took off fast, spreading across New York and into New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia and Florida. McKinney is officially next.
Flavors That Rotate Weekly
Chip City keeps cookie lovers on their toes with a rotating menu of more than 100 flavors. Don’t worry — you won’t face cookie overload all at once. About 15 to 16 flavors are available at any given time, giving plenty of reasons to come back week after week.
Fan favorites include chocolate peanut butter, Nutella sea salt, chocolate s’mores and classic chocolate chip. Then there are uniquely iconic cookies like the hot honey cornbread, pumpkin spice latte and even espresso martini.
Chip City cookies are baked fresh daily and served warm, with a signature crispy outside and ooey gooey center (yes, that phrase is basically their brand slogan). Think giant cookies that walk the line between nostalgic comfort food and over-the-top indulgence.
The Big Day In McKinney
Mark your calendar: Sept. 19 is when Chip City officially lands in North Texas. Whether you’re a classic chocolate chip purist or a “bring on the Dubai chocolate” adventurer, McKinney is about to smell a whole lot sweeter…
