Cases of hand, foot and mouth disease ramp up as kids return to school, UI Health doctor says

(WIFR) – As kids go back to school, its easier for illnesses like hand, foot and mouth disease to be spread between students or brought home.

Dr. Amrita Jaiprakash, family medicine resident at UI Health College of Medicine in Rockford, defines hand, foot and mouth disease as a “very common, viral illness that often affects young children but can affect adults and teenagers too.”
