SHREVEPORT, La. — The long-idle Libbey Glass plant in Shreveport has a new future ahead, thanks to a local partnership that officially acquired the property this week.
The 850,000-square-foot facility, located off Interstate 20 at Jewella Avenue, ceased production in 2020 during the pandemic and has sat vacant ever since. Now, the Northern Louisiana Economic Partnership (NLEP) has secured the site with plans to transform it into a hub for advanced manufacturing.
