Luxury home builder, and Estes Park based Darling Enterprise has announced Freelan Heights, a new luxury subdivision on the property known as Stanley Lot 2A, perched behind the Stanley Hotel at the highest elevation within the Stanley Historic District, according to developers.
Don Darling, founder of Darling Enterprise added, “It’s an honor to be part of Freelan Oscar Stanley’s legacy. We’re naming the neighborhood Freelan Heights to recognize his many contributions to the Estes Park community. This development also follows exciting local milestones, including the Stanley Film Center construction, the Stanley Hotel expansion, and the Sundance Film Festival relocation.”
Construction on the ten home community is set to begin in October, while developers seek town board approval to change land use zoning from multi-family units, to estate single family single family homes.
Design approval from the Stanley Historic District Architectural Review Committee has been received by the group, who plans to entice vacation home owners in the market along the mid to upper $2 million price range.
According to developers, Mr. Cullen had previous future plans to build duplex units in an effort to increase the Stanley Hotel inventory. That plan changed last year when Cullen approached Darling to purchase the site.
