Fisherman, 27, killed in accident aboard vessel, officials say

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU/Gray News) – A 27-year-old fisherman in Alaska was killed in an accident aboard a commercial vessel, according to state authorities.

Alaska State Troopers said they received a report around 9:45 p.m. on Sept. 3 that Baxter Cox had been struck in the head by heavy gear while working aboard a fishing vessel.

Investigators said Cox was attempting to untangle the rope attached to a steel cod pot when the vessel’s pot shaker was lowered onto him…
