Court disturbance in North Tonawanda leaves officer injured; suspect in custody

NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. — A Buffalo man was arrested Wednesday after causing a disturbance at North Tonawanda City Court and resisting police, an incident that also led to injuries to an officer.

Around 11 a.m. Wednesday, the North Tonawanda Police Department responded to the city court for an irate male identified as William R. Weigold III, 36, of Buffalo. Police said Weigold was verbally berating court staff, court officers, and responding officers.

He was escorted out of the building but continued to cause a disturbance in the parking lot, “repeatedly and loudly swearing,” which alarmed several bystanders, according to police…
