Services Expanding For Veterans With Criminal Backgrounds

Riverside County’s Department of Veterans’ Services is teaming up with a group called Vet Phoenix to provide outreach and housing services to military veterans who have been convicted of crimes, served their time behind bars, and are released back into society.

The county refers to these people as “justice-involved” veterans.

Vet Phoenix is a nonprofit group started by veterans have served time in prison, and it will be paid by the County with state grant money, to provide peer support and case management services…
