Mother and Daughter Hospitalized After Dog Attack in North Miami Apartment Complex

Two people, a mother and her daughter, were rushed to a local hospital after a dog attack in a North Miami apartment complex, according to reports from the city’s police department. The incident occurred in the courtyard of a building located at Sixth Avenue and Northeast 138th Street, WSVN detailed from neighbors’ accounts. One witness recounted the event: “Yeah, I saw the dog bite her. You know, I saw the dog bite her, it was terrible, but nothing I can do.”

While the severity of the victims’ injuries was not made immediately clear, they were reported as responsive. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials were prompt in attending to the victims, rendering aid before transporting them for further medical treatment. As described by a neighbor to Local 10 News, the scene was one of urgency: “I saw the dog bite her. I saw the dog bite her and it was terrible,” adding, “She was screaming to death. There was nothing we could do but call the police.”

Reports indicate the dog in question is owned by a resident of the second floor of the apartment complex. After the attack, the owner managed to intervene and halt the dog’s aggression, according to witness accounts. Following the incident, the dog’s owner was cited for not having the proper tags, shots, and paperwork for the animal, Local 10 News reported. The dog will now be quarantined at the owner’s residence for a 10-day period while the North Miami Police Department continues its investigation into the circumstances of the attack…
