Community members gathered Thursday morning at the Veterans Memorial Garden in Antelope Park to honor the lives lost in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and the Nebraskans who later died in service to the nation.
The ceremony included a wreath-laying at the Post 9/11 Monument, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the reading of Nebraska’s fallen heroes. Event organizers emphasized both remembrance and gratitude for first responders who continue to serve locally.
