WALDORF, Md. — A 13-year-old girl was airlifted to a Washington, D.C., hospital Thursday night after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene near St. Charles Parkway and Post Office Road in Waldorf.
The crash was reported around 7:45 p.m. Callers told 911 operators the teen was lying in the roadway with what appeared to be a dislocated shoulder. Investigators said vehicle debris was found near the scene, and witnesses reported a car, possibly a black Acura continuing toward the Gallery Place area without stopping.
Emergency crews requested a medevac, and U.S. Park Police Eagle 1 was called to the scene. Engine 31 established a landing zone in the parking lot of Thomas Stone High School, where the helicopter touched down.
